Almaz Ayana collected a silver medal in women’s 5000 meters race this evening at the World Championship in London. She finished the distance in 14:40:35 hours while the Kenyan Hellen Obiri claimed the championship title in the distance in a time of 14:34:86.
Almaz has a personal best of 14:12:59 in the distance.
Sifan Hassan a Dutch citizen of Ethiopian origin won a bronze medal at the race. Senbere Teferi of Ethiopia finished fourth.
Almaz Ayana won a gold medal in 10,000 meters in this edition of the world championship at London.
