What an adventure we are having down here in good ole’ Dixie, most people malign the South with half-knowledge because they believe the propaganda of mainstream media but I know from first-hand experience that this land is truly God’s country. This faith I have in the South was affirmed this evening in Corinth, Mississippi when I ran into an officer named Timothy on our way to Alabama. I will circle back to the name of the city and the meaning behind it later.
My wife and I made a pit stop at a gas station to get some rest only for me to spot a giant of a man who looked like Sampson from the bible 2.0. Being the talkative fella that I am, Officer Timothy and I struck up a conversation only to realize that he is a former Marine who joined the Corinth PD. Out from one fire in Iraq as a rough and ready leatherneck to a shepherd with a badge who watches over his flock with a heart of a lion but the gentle nature of a lamb.
Officer Timothy went on to tell me about the various incidents he has encountered while on dispatch from once trying to save a woman in a burning car who ended up dying after she refused to get amputated to trying to help a meth addict only for the guy to commit suicide in front of him. Mainstream media always pushes stories of cops killing people for a reason, they are trying to create strife between us and further the divides that have shattered this country long before the first shot was fired at Fort Sumpter, South Carolina.
What they don’t tell us are stories of valor like the one displayed by Officer Timothy and his partner Officer Matthew. Yeah I know, these things take on a biblical tone as if we are reliving the times of Jesus or like we are living in the midst of Revelation. The truth is that every day is a revelation as we choose it, we can keep our eyes fixed on our differences or we can look away from the sons of Satan who plot to drown us in debt and hopelessness. I chose to travel to the land of Dixie, as in the land of Ten, to find shelter from uncertainty and I’m blessed for that decision despite the challenges that come with being moved by God instead of being motivated by money.
Consequently, Mississippi is one of the poorest states in America and many people are foolish enough to believe it’s because of racism. This propaganda spread by politicians, mainstream media and historians could not be any further from the truth, the reality is that Mississippi and the rest of the South are poorer than the North because they honor God while states like New York, California, Massachusetts and Washington, DC service mammon (money) while pretending to serve God.
In this world, at least until the time Jesus returns, those who honor God and place Him above everything else are judged, punished and diagnosed as abnormal, that is why Mississippi is poor in money but rich in spirit. #BrokenSparrow Click To TweetWhich brings me back to the name of this blessed city in Mississippi named Corinth. There was a city in the Bible called Corinth which is where Paul was locked up. While Peter was leading a good life in Rome before he met a gruesome fate at the hands of Nero, Paul was in bondage in Corinth because his passion for Jesus was judged as being unhinged. This is what happens all the time, in a world where being ungodly and seeking the flesh are treated as virtues, those who stand resolute in God are mistreated as pariahs and judged as crazy.
Oftentimes, the most righteous among them get locked up as Paul did, but being held against one’s will in confinement is nothing because Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for us so who are we to complain we get dishonored for doing what pleases God. I shared this same exact story with a lady at a store dressed up like a doctor named Cathy and she could not agree more, even though she had a costume on for Holloween, she immediately said Amen because the good people of Mississippi might act like Romans when in Rome but in the end she was Ethiopian just like me because we all come from the same cradle and we all have the same Father who resides in Heaven and in our hearts.
I met so many people during our short stay in Mississippi that it is hard to do everyone justice by writing about them in a couple of sentences. To the four friends I met at the rest stop, Tammy, Hill, Zack and Sandra, I truly want to thank you for your southern hospitality, our conversation was truly healing. To the army veteran who was once a captain but now a lumberer, thank you for sharing your story and encouraging me when I share some of my difficulties with you.
To Larry the Tennis Guy, thank you for making me laugh about contra accounts, you might have a future in comedy catering to the country club demographic. To Renee the teacher/librarian, you are right, it is about the heart and about the soul, may more people realize that instead of making it about their egos. Lastly, to Jason the 32nd degree Mason I met this morning on my way out of the Hampton hotel, you gave me one of the biggest revelations I’ve had since this day started.
In the video above, I harshly criticized Masons and I held no punches when it comes to criticizing secret societies. But you showed me my own failings for as much as I say don’t judge collectively, I sure have a way of casting a wide and ensnaring many for the for the sins of the few. The same way it is immoral to judge “white” people for the mistakes of their ancestors or assume that all “black” people think or act, it is likewise not right to blame all Masons for the transgressions of a few who happen to be among them. At the end of the day, whether “black” or “white”, north or south, Republican or Democrat, the truth is that we are all in this together. We are either going to row together or we will drown apart in a tsunami of depression.
Lastly, to the one person I met that had so much light but was shrouded in doubt, just know that life is full up ebbs and flows and that today’s struggles will give birth to tomorrow’s joys. I believe your name Sulemyi has something to do with glue in Arabic, that makes you a person that brings people together but there is an equal part to that burden. What you do for others is rarely returned, you give endlessly but your kindness is frequently taken for granted and barely noticed by those who take without understanding how valuable your contributions are. Fret not Sulemyi, where many overlook there is a higher power observing so your heart is appreciated by He who matters the most.
LAST MESSAGE: whatever comes next, just know I love all of you & that I'm sorry for letting my ego get the best of me. I should know better, it's not anger or hate, love is the Revelation we are waiting for. #BrokenSparrow https://t.co/gwbkaHNrSb

Here is what I know to be true, the South will indeed rise again because the kindness that is evident in God’s country will eventually win out over the greed that has taken over the world. But before that day of redemption that God promises, which will be delivered by He who cometh bearing the sword, which is the word of God, we must be prepared for great tribulations because pains always preceded blessings. The same way Jesus turned water into wine, we must mourn first the passing of the old but in time we will celebrate the turning of the page where a new earth will be created from the passing of the New World Order.
If you take away nothing else from this article, please realize this Biblical truth. Those who are the closest to God are always tested by the devil while those who stray far from Him are rewarded with riches and fame. The good people of Mississippi honor God as much as the good people of my birthland Ethiopia, that is why both countries are poor in money but are rich in spirit. Money comes and goes but the works that we do on earth, the love that we give one another and the way we embrace Jesus will be with us for eternity. That is why the South shall rise again because God blesses those who bless His name::
