A time arrives for all when we must choose between ego and God. When that hour arrives, it will not be pretty because it will test your soul and will break you in order to mend your unrecognized wounds. You see, there are traumas that you carry in the recesses of your mind, some from childhood and others from your ancestors, that have kept you imprisoned while giving you the illusion of freedom.
For years, if not decades, you have normalized what is abnormal as you lived a life of smoke and mirrors for others while ignoring that hurting child inside. You dared not look back and you sprinted ahead in order to neglect that same hurting child that became an adult but never stopped crying since the original transgression was committed against you before you were old enough to know right from wrong. Innocence stolen by malice, you learned to move on without mending the pain. In time, you sought external acceptance instead of seeking internal wellness.
The whole time Igzihabier (God) was calling you to Him, offering his medanite (medicine) but you stubbornly self-medicated by way of addictions that come in the form of spirits, smokes, social media and other apples from the devil that never quench your thirst no matter how much you drink from his chalice of malice. Eventually, the moment of truth arrives because Igzihabier, the loving Father He is, will strip away everything from you in order t oleave you naked in front of a mirror. At this time, you can complain and claim to be a victim or you can look squarely at your reflection and ask tough questions to understand how you got here.

This is your guzo (journey) to Damascus where you keep walking and meet Iyesus or turn back and make bedmates with satan. The choice is simple, God or ego, choose one because one can’t serve two masters. You got this far in life by worshiping your ego even as you go to church professing to love your Creator but the day is upon you to really be honest and ask if your actions reflect the teachings of His son Iyesus. Do you love without preconditions? Do you live life without judging others? Do you keep the Laws of Moses? Do you love money above Mariam? Do you love your neighbor as you do yourself? Do you forgive your transgressors? Do you forgive yourself? Are you truthful? Are you accountable for your actions?
In public, especially on social media, it is easy to pretend and say yes to all these questions. But in the quiet corners of your mind, your conscience will whisper the truth to you even as you piously preen to be perfect for the world. You have perfected the art of being a thespian as you act like you have it all figured out when all along you are a hurting child who is crying for help. Stop trying to heal others and heal thyself because you cannot change the world if you can’t first change yourself.
You can make the wisest choice and go within to heal or you can point one finger at others while three fingers are pointing back at you reminding you of your hypocrisy. There might be many who cheer you on as they poor fire on your flames, they do so not because they are in your corner but because they want you to be cornered next to them in their self-righteous walk of misery and pity. I pray you don’t go that route because that is a tsunami of depression and anxiety.
You keep marching and demanding justice all along you ignore the biggest agency who is conspiring to hurt you, look in the mirror, who is injuring you the most is you. When you figure this out, you can start to change the world:: #Guzo2Healing pic.twitter.com/qQr1UJW4pg

The problems of the world can wait for at least one day, at the very least know your demons before you demand justice for others. Mankind fell a long time before you were born and it will continue to be crestfallen as long as each one of us doesn’t do what you must find the courage to do next. The answer is simple, if you want to see the world change, change you first. The pains that were given to you as a child, you had nothing to do with, that was the devil working through adults. However, once you turned 18, almost everything bad that happened to you, you in some way or another invited those pains. We are a magnet, if we do not love our neighbors as ourselves and vice versa, we end up attracting into our lives the very people we deserve.
You can protest all day and it will accomplish nothing because the biggest injustice you must stop is the injustice you commit against yourself:: #Guzo2Healing Click To TweetHere is the lesson you should take away from people who hurt you, be thankful, that was God trying to teach you to love yourself, or conversely to be a little bit less narcissistic, through others. He tried to reach you with love and kindness but you kept rebuking His calling. So then the same way that Satan was allowed to visit Job with tribulations to test how truly faithful he was, we too allowed the devil into our cipher because we refused to do the right things as we either abused ourselves, abused others or both. This moment before you is a blessing, get up like and be victorious or stay down and become a victim.
To some these words will be like seeds that fall among thistles and to others these words will be like seeds among the rocks, but to a few these seeds will find fertile soil and will start the process of authentic healing from inside out because living life outside in is what got you here to begin with. I hope you are in the last category because you don’t need to hurt anymore, you don’t need to suffer internally while smiling for the world.
Igzihabier did not create you to be in conflict, that is the offering of Lucifer, God made us in His image; that means we are meant to thrive and find fiker (love), selam (peace) and desta (happiness). I pray you find all three because solitude in the midst of friends and family is the height of hell. Reflect on these and realize that this memo was written for the author as much as the reader::
” እግዚአብሔር ለእኛ ያለውን ፍቅር አውቀናል እናም ታመን። እግዚአብሔር ፍቅር ነው በፍቅር የሚኖር በእግዚአብሔር ይኖራል እግዚአብሔርም በእርሱ ይኖራል።” ~ 1ኛ ዮሐንስ 4:16
