After four years of castigating Donald Trump at every turn and pretending to care for justice, in short order the motley’s fools at Washington Post did an about face quicker than Joe Biden violates the personal spaces of little girls and young women. Their tagline “democracy dies in the dark” was honesty in advertising; they were letting us know their mission statement right on the front page of their trash publication.
They are no longer murdering democracy in the dark; they are now pissing on the grave they dug for free-press in the light of day. Yesterday’s embarrassing headline about the Democrats passing Biden’s signature legislation was touted as some type of savior for the poor, working and middle-class. “Biden stimulus showers money on Americans, sharply cutting poverty and favoring individuals over businesses”; that was the title of the article as they stowed their journalistic bonafides and donned kneepads to suckle the teats of swine who pretend to be public servants.

Now I ask you, my fellow common sense thinkers, how does a one time $1,400 payment sharply cut poverty? How does an unemployment benefit of $300 a month favor individuals over businesses, especially after Wall Street was flooded with trillions of dollars during the first round of Covid relief schemes? This law that Democrats passed is not some type of panacea that addresses the growing wealth gap in America; it’s snake oil that only exacerbates inequalities and enhances the financial anxieties of the bottom 90%.
This supposed stimulus sends thrills up the thighs of the plutocracy while sending chills down our collective backs. Special interests will make a killing; $1.5 million for Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway development, $1.5 billion for Amtrak and $1.25 billion for shuttered venue operators to name some of the pork that is embedded in this monstrosity of a bill. Nowhere to be found in this scam legislation is a hike in the minimum wage, debt relief or a guarantee of income in the event of job loss as the Scandinavians have enacted. Once again, the CEO class gets all their wish lists met while the rest of us are told to eat cake.
This betrayal of the marginalized majority in order to enlarge the wealth of the 1% is conveniently spun by the Washington Post as a victory for the average man and woman. One of the cronies they quoted in the article made an outlandish statement that reveals the true nature of this Democrat commercial that was passed off as news:
“This legislative package likely represents the most effective set of policies for reducing child poverty ever in one bill, especially among Black and Latinx children,” said Indivar Dutta-Gupta, co-executive director of the Georgetown Center on Poverty and Inequality. “The Biden administration is seeing this more like a wartime mobilization. They’ll deal with any downside risks later on.”
There is nothing in this legislation that addresses the root causes of child poverty; they seem to think throwing a one time payment will somehow magically transform the plight of the impoverished among us. When banking criminals bled our economy and ruptured the global markets in 2007, they were showered with a one time payment of trillions of dollars followed up by trillions more in funding by way of Quantitative Easing. When it’s time to take care of Wall Street’s victims, all we get is chump change and illusions of a cavalry that never comes.
It is not surprising that the Washington Post has sunk to this level of junk journalism; they are nothing more than an ad space for the aristocracy after all. A publication that is owned by Jeff Bezos will never be a source of news; the snake rots from the head so it’s only natural that DC’s paper of record is a publication of drivel. William Randolph Hearst was a hero compared to the jackal who owns the @WashingtonPost; yellow journalism is alive and well in America and one of its leading peddlers is based in our nation's capital.
