This is an urgent bulletin to all active duty personnel in the US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines as well as to all veterans living in the United States and abroad. This is especially intended to the 25,000+ National Guard reservists in our nation’s capital as well as police officers from the DC metro area and plain clothes agents who are manning stations at the US Capitol, the White House and a litany of locations in the District of Columbia.
First and foremost, I am a friendly stranger who honors the military and people who put on the uniform to protect our freedoms and project our values around the world. Although I am a fierce critique of immoral wars and the ways our government keeps squandering our nation’s blood and treasure to police the planet, my ire is never aimed at our military forces. To the contrary, as I note in the poem at the bottom of this article titled “Silent Salute”, I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with grunts, leathernecks, swabbies and zoomies across America and globally.
Though I never had the privilege of serving, I nonetheless deeply revere people who had the gumption and the moxie to answer the call of duty. I come from a long line of veterans; my father served in the Ethiopian Navy and cross-trained with the USNA in San Diego in the 1960s. Both my grandfathers were officers in the Ethiopian military—one a general and the other a captain—and heroically repelled fascists from my birthland during World War II. Most impressive of all, my grandmother was a decorated veteran who was awarded a medal of valor by Emperor Haile Selassie for her tenacity under fire as she took up arms and fought against would-be colonizers.
I myself once had the opportunity to follow in the footprints of my forbearers; in 1992 I had a scholarship offer from West Point upon taking the SATs and scoring high in both the verbal and math sections. That fortuitous development was my father’s happiest day; I still remember the joys that manifested in his eyes when he opened up the letter and saw the contents with West Point’s imprimatur on it. Sadly, I pissed away that opportunity and disappointed my father in ways that deeply hurt me to this day. I skipped 40 days my senior year of high school and in the process forever closed the door that West Point opened for me.
I write these things not to dwell on past regrets nor to bring attention to myself; to the contrary, I am penning this memorandum with critical announcements enclosed herein. Our nation is at a crossroads. There is an impending danger that awaits all of us tomorrow so I feel compelled and convicted by God to share this message in hopes of reaching those who can be reached and influencing many who put Our Creator above honor and country.
Let me harken back to the 1930’s to reveal the reason I published this dispatch. During the height of the Great Depression, veterans who fought valiantly in World War I set up tent cities in Washington DC to demand what was promised to them. These were honorable men who loved America; there was nothing seditious about their actions. Over 40,000 veterans descended upon our nation’s capitol not looking for handouts but seeking the monies and bonuses that was promised to them by Uncle Sam. We now call the the Bonus Army but I will always remember them as the begetters of America’s Greatest Generation.
Instead of heeding their demands and fulfilling the promises made by Woodrow Wilson, the Department of Defense unleashed hell upon soldiers, marines, airmen and seamen who defended America during “the Great War”. Many of the men who were camping out on the shadows of the Washington Mall were maimed and injured and a majority were bracketed by shellshock and the horrors of war memories. Where compassion was needed, tanks and cavalries were sent in to “break the backs” of veterans as if they were occupying forces from foreign lands.
The treasonous souls who led these assaults were none other than Eisenhower, MacArthur and Patton. These axis of egos climbed the ranks and became generals on the backs and blood of veterans whom they trampled with their M1917s and thoroughbreds. We now celebrate Eisenhower, MacArthur and Patton as icons and laud them for their service, history will remember them eventually for their dishonor and their indignities. We will never know the names of the veterans they killed; as always, we thank men and women broken by wars for their service while we kill them with indifference.
History is about to repeat itself, except this time it will not be veterans who will feel the brunt of our government’s callousness but National Guard reservists, active duty soldiers and police officers who have no idea what is coming for them. The pieces are set in place for a storm to arrive tomorrow; the potential exists for havoc to break out and for carnage on a massive scale to be loosened. I hope and pray that I am wrong and that January 20th comes and goes without any bloodshed but my spirit tells me that we are in the calm before the storm.
The US military is a reflection of society writ large; within their ranks are Trump supporters and Biden supporters. There are also factions that favor Proud Boys and Oath Keepers as well as sectors who are affiliated with Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA. So then what happens if Proud Boys and Oath Keepers protestors clash with BLM and ANTIFA activists? What if reservists from Wisconsin side with one sect while police officers from DC side with the other? Conditions exists in our nation’s capitol for a shootout; once adrenaline kicks in and survival instincts take over, the unimaginable could pixilate right before our eyes as DC turns into the world’s murder capital in ways that make the 1980’s look like child’s play.
Before this happens—before we witness a bloodbath in DC that could spillover into Virginia, Maryland and beyond—I pray that those who are patrolling the streets with fingers tracing their M4 triggers really pause and reflect. We are being led into the belly of tyranny, what is taking place is not an accident but a thoroughly planned out campaign that could very well serve as a pretext towards the installment of martial law in America. Dismiss this scenario at your peril, so did Ethiopians in the 1970’s before a disgraced junior officer deposed the King of Ethiopia and shortly thereafter committed a genocide against 500,000 men, women and children.
But where there is foreboding, there is also fear. What evil plots, God has a way of turning into breakthroughs. Unwittingly, the invisible hands who rule governments around the world with impunity, including ours, have set into motion a possible mass-insurrection that could lead to an all out revolution. All it takes is one Colonel, Major or Captain with courage to stand up and become a light where DC is shrouded by darkness. As Thomas Jefferson noted, “one man with courage is a majority”. I am lookin for that man or woman with valor to lead a mutiny in the name of liberty.
As much as I despise MacArthur for his role in slaughtering veterans in the 1930s, I turn to his sage words to close out this memorandum. This is an except from a speech he gave to cadets at West Point in 1962:
“Duty, Honor, Country”—those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying point to build courage when courage seems to fail, to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith, to create hope when hope becomes forlorn. [speech citation]
I understand how vital it is to maintain chain of command in the military; if orders are not followed, chaos breaks out and anarchy ensues. The job of soldiers, marines, airmen and seamen is not to question but to salute and do their duty that is best. However, there are instances when defiance is needed above compliance—this is one of those moments.
Before you blindly follow orders, look within your hearts, search your souls and heed what your conscience is telling you.
For the rest of us, the civilians, workers, students and retired Americans all across these United States, we too have the opportunity to rebel against a government that is ruling us without consent. We are calling for a nationwide strike where workers of all stripes, without bias to identity or ideology, call in sick, take a day off or quit the same day the political debased are celebrating Joseph Mengele Biden’s inauguration. While they are getting drunk on power, we can seize the initiative and shut commerce down.
When we touch their money, they will quickly listen. I ask you, nay I implore you, to read about the Wildcat Strike USA 2021, join our effort and push the message using #WildcatStrikeUSA2021 on social media. This might literally be our last stand, our Adwa moment, before the day of authoritarianism arrives. Failing some sort of collective action, get ready for lockdowns, forced vaccinations and pervasive tribulation as the world economy implodes and social order breaks down.
As for the honorable men and women who don the uniform and serve with distinction daily, let me remind you that there is a greater Commander above CINC and five star generals who watches over all, run afoul of His directives at your peril. Who I am is inconsequential, I am but a husband to one, a father to a son and a brother to all who accept me. I am also a servant and an envoy, I pass along this message to those who are able to listen and the rest shall be judged accordingly.
There is a fire that cometh and a wrath that is imminent, pick your sides and do so wisely. Let us say we near a revelation where the evils that were done in the dark are about to be exposed in the light of day. We are thus at at inflection point where decisions with MAJOR implications have to be made by all. On one side is humanity and the other evil. I pray you choose the former for if you pick the latter 'just following orders' will not save you from Gideon's sWord and the flames of Isaiah. HOOAH! #MemoDefy Click To Tweet
“If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” ~ Psalm 139:9-10
This is an opinion piece. While I believe Americans have a Constitutional right to redeem our government if it is not acting in our interests, as a matter of philosophy, I am anti-violence and believe that only love can overcome injustice and iniquity. This article is a reminder to all Americans that we, the people, have the final say when it comes to our governance and also serves to remind those in power the perils of ruling without the consent of the governed.
