Death toll from last week’s devastating landslide in Sierra Leone now reaches 500. And six hundred more people are missing. The disaster hit some families harder so much so that three or four members of the same family are killed by the landslide.

At least 2000 people are left homeless while more than 10,000 Sierra Leoneans abandoned their homes.

According to Aljazeera report, government called for the evacuation of another 10,000 people. Aid agencies setup temporary shelters for victims.

In a related news, another landslide hit the Democratic Republic of Congo same week and reportedly claimed more than 200 lives.
